About the Association

The International Association of Design Professionals (INASDS) is an international organization of highly professional experts, industrialists, enthusiasts and creators in the design community.

As a unifying community, we provide opportunities for organizations ranging from professional practitioners and design firms to educational and government institutions, design promoters and national associations to directly join and participate in our global community, network and events.

Our members represent a vast and dynamically growing movement of designers, educators and stakeholders in a variety of international disciplines on all continents.

Professional aspiration

INASDS is an international platform for exchanging information on best professional practices, presenting and promoting the qualified profession of designers and architects of the human living environment. INASDS maintains and develops minimum common standards of education and professional profile for designers.

The design profession extends the entire spectrum of architecture, which can be either furniture design or small form architecture. INASDS was established to create an international network to strengthen the global network of designers and to continuously develop and strengthen the profession. This is done through projects and intensive communication about the profession, exchange of views and continuous dialogue with members, partners and sister organizations and institutions.

One of our objectives is to develop a professional ethic that sets standards for designers in terms of approach and responsibility within the profession, towards clients, society and the environment.

Main objectives of INASDS

INASDS focuses on the following professional areas that drive our engagement with members, support our programs, and shape our future:

  1. Shaping the social influence associated with the design profession.
  2. Demonstrating the value and benefits of the design to the general public.
  3. Creating a broad and inclusive global design community.
  4. Raising standards for design research, education and practice, and developing appropriate guidelines.
  5. Developing policies for the discipline and putting them into practice for long-term impact.

Social responsibility

INASDS strongly believes in the power of design as a means to improve human life and productivity. INASDS affirms the equality of people around the world and that a well-designed environment helps to raise the standard of living of the entire civil society.

INASDS promotes equal rights and access to design practice, research and education for all who wish to pursue it. This is irrespective of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, cultural heritage and socio-economic status, and regardless of the differences that arise in different regional contexts.

INASDS argues that quality design requires consideration of changing factors such as technological innovation, globalization, economic and political instability and social inequality, as well as integrated consideration of environmental and sustainability factors.
