Prof. Silke Langenberg, Ph.D., talks to Prof. Graham Brooker

Friday, September 20, 2024, 10:00-11:00 a.m. CET

Complex structures are difficult to maintain and industrial manufacturing processes shorten the life of objects not only in product design but also in architecture.

Repairability is becoming less and less important – replacement seems to be becoming the norm. In his lecture, Dr. Silke Langenberg, PhD, calls for a rethinking of the way we build, starting already from the planning stage. Dr. Silke Langenberg, PhD, is a full-time professor in the Department of Building Heritage and Conservation at ETH Zurich. Her professorship is affiliated with the Institute for the Preservation of Monuments and Building History and the Institute for Technology in Architecture.

This lecture is co-funded by the European Union and is aimed at anyone involved in architecture and interior design, from students, teachers, practitioners or other professionals in the construction industry.
